House Concerts
Are you interested in having a Juliet Turner concert in your house or garden this summer? If so read on…
It is quite common in the USA and Canada for musicians to play “house concerts” as well as the more usual theatre, pub and concert hall venues. People invite their friends and neighbours for the evening and the artist plays in the living room/garden, wherever there is space.
A guaranteed fee is agreed beforehand and a contract signed so that both artist and host know what to expect. This guarantee can be met by contributions from people attending the concert (ideally 10-30 people) or is paid by the host.
Things to consider if you wish to host a house concert, particularly if you live in an urban area. These are similar to those you would have if you were hosting any other kind of party or social gathering in your home.
1. How many people can you comfortably and safely fit in your living room/garden?
2. How will you meet the artist’s costs?
3. Is there adequate parking in your area?
4. How will the neighbours react to live music next door?
We would ask that your guests respect the usual concert etiquette, listen while the artist is playing and avoid smoking in the same room as the performance.
If you are interested please email info@julietturner.com, tell us where and how you would host a house concert, we will send you further information and see if we can make it happen.
Thank you for your interest.
